Keys Work, operating as Keys Work, respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Who is responsible
Our privacy contact is Dalee (杨大力). Write to Dalee (杨大力) at 106-700 Lawrence Ave W, North York, ON M6A 3B4, or email fobstoronto@gmail.com, with any question, access request or complaint.
What we collect and why
- Order details — your name, address, phone, email and what you bought — so we can process, ship and support your order, and meet tax and record-keeping rules.
- Payment information — handled by our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers.
- Proof-of-ownership documents — for restricted, do-not-duplicate, high-security and mailbox keys, we may collect photo ID, a property-manager letter, a key-control card or a similar document, so we can confirm you are allowed to buy that key. (See the Restricted Key Policy.)
- Website data — basic analytics and, if used, cookies, to keep the site working and improve it.
We collect only what we need, and we tell you why at the point we ask.
Who we share it with
We share information only as needed to run the store, with:
- our payment processor;
- shipping carriers (such as Canada Post and packet couriers);
- our fulfilment partner, who packs and ships orders;
- our website host and SMS/email provider;
- government or police, if the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information.
Proof-of-ownership documents — special care
ID and ownership documents are sensitive. We:
- store them securely with access limited to staff who verify orders;
- use them only to check that a restricted-key sale is allowed;
- keep them for 12 months, then delete them, unless we need them longer for a dispute or a police or legal request;
- do not post them or share them beyond the people above.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Contact Dalee (杨大力). If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security and breaches
We protect your information with reasonable safeguards. If a breach creates a real risk of serious harm, we report it as the law requires and, where needed, tell the people affected.
Changes
We may update this policy and will post the new date above.
